I would never drive, use the train and also would not move either

Yeah, train is 100 times more bearable.

Although I had a job in London which involved 45 minutes train journey each way and I was about 100/1 to get a seat unless I got a train at stupid o'clock.

I soon got sick of it and quit - almost entirely because I hated the travelling and wasn't prepared to move to London.

Currently 22 miles/ just under 25 minute drive.

Soon to be about 7 miles & less than ten minute drive

I always thought you guys were on the job as soon as you woke up.

Brighton to Tottenham. On the days everything works, 2hrs 40 mins. Worst ever, 4 and a half hours. Except every Wednesday when it's about 5 seconds from bedroom to spare room/home office

20 mins drive each way. Decent money and decent job with huge potential to gain promotions!

Anything more than 45 mins each way would be unbearable everyday unless it's a quality job that's really well paid! Then I'd try and put up with it. Home life is important to me though. I'd sacrifice a few grand to have a job more local so I can enjoy home life better. I work to live, not live to work!

15mins drive, 25min cycle, 40min run

About 4 1/2 miles which makes a change from the minimum 1 hour commute from South Wales to Weston-super-Mud last year. Don't miss it at all.

moving out of london in 2 weeks so my commute will go from 40mins e/w to 2hrs e/w (from worthing). not looking forward to it, but it's a job with opportunities

Couple of firefighters I know commute into Essex from the Costa del Sol.

They get a Ryan Air flight into Stansted, get to their Station for Parade at 09:00 hrs, do their 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts, then fly back to Spain for 4 days.

Used to commute from Caterham, Surrey to Alperton, Middlesex, two hours and five connections, couldn't do that again.

Brighton to Burgess hill, about 25 mins just pottering along, could do it quicker but I'm trying to keep petrol costs down,

My missus used to bus from woodingdean to shoreham police station on the number 2, 1 hour in the morning and 1.5 hours on the way back, that must've been a nightmare without adding breakdowns and buses not turning up etc, she passed her driving test in July so now its half hour each way, she loves it now, its like having another hour in the day for her...

It's a long way if you need a piss and your on one of those trains without a toliet!

At Angmering one time I had to get off the train I was that desperate.

Stations along the route don't seem to charge (Angmering, Shoreham, Havant, Cosham, Worthing and Barnham for sure) while Brighton and Portsmouth and Southsea do. Even more confusingly although Southsea charges, Harbour doesn't.

But yes. f***ing sucks. No tables for my laptop and those 4 pod seats all the way so no 2 seat airline style.

From my house to work its 20 minutes/half an hour on the 2. From my better half's house its about an hour on the 2.
