Not in the least. It's very hard to get excited about a competition which by your very participation shows you are not where you want your club to be. See Liverpool in the UEFA Cup (although the locations are a bit more exotic). Next question.

About 0, it's just the manner and the conduct of the officals that piss me off.

Oh and the twats from QPR who called US cheats plus their Mickey Mouse idea of organistation.

Utterly pointless competition with no incentive for anyone to get excited. The winner of the whole competition only gets £ 50000 for heaven's sake.

Utter waste of time especially as the manager obviously didn;t take it seriously.

To get 1500 going is extraordinary.

Hopefully one of the spin-offs will be that McGhee gets to realise just how much support this club has.

Our success over recent years - from Steve Gritt onwards - has only come when we've had managers who take the fans seriously. Once they start working for us, rather than themselves, the results start to pile up.

Ah....the romance and the drama of the LDV Van trophy. Wouldn't miss it for the world!

Does anybody know what the trophy even looks like? I bet it's plastic coated with silver automotive spray paint.

We worked it out yesterday that last season our average away attendance was 1625.

It won somebody £100 bet.

I enjoyed a day out in Cardiff last season with 40,000 Bristol City fans and hangers on. It was a really good day out and something I'd like to go though with my own team.

I'd prefer Division One football though...

It used to be a horrible glass shield thing. Not sure what it looks like now, but lets face it, it is going to be horrendous and tacky isn't it?

Anybody at all remember ever seeing the trophy?

Can't find any pictures of the trophy, but did find this interesting press release from the LDV vans people:

Average gates for the trophy, which is played for by second and third division Football League clubs as well as 12 teams from the Conference League have rocketed by over 33 per cent. In 2002, average gates were 1740. In this year’s trophy, that figure has increased to 2316.

Tony Lewis, LDV’s executive director sales and marketing said of the attendance figures: "This is great news for all involved with the competition and proves once again that the LDV Vans Trophy plays an important role within the UK football calendar.

So there we have it. Offical word that the trophy does play "an important role within the UK football calendar." Learn something new everyday ???

I'm disapointed.

I wanted a win to keep the momentum going.

I wanted a win to boost morale.

I wanted a win to progress in the competition.

A trip to Cardiff would have been ace.

On a scale of 1 to 10 id say about 3, i would have liked us to win it, and a trip to cardiff for my 21st would have be great, but teams that get to the fianl normally find it as a distraction and we can now concentrate on the league!
