I agree with you on points 1, 3, and 4. Re the pubs etc, I think it was a reasonable idea to give the public the benefit of the doubt that we'd be capable of drastically reducing our visits to the pub, but allowing the businesses to function at a basic level. The public weren't able to do that, so the pubs had to be closed.
The doctor on the news tonight overseeing all those deaths in 1 hospital, tired, almost crying but not enough equipment for them or patients.
And we had all that notice.
Hancock is hopeless, Gove totally cocked it up this morning, Johnson just reads an autocue.
But it doesn't surprise me with this shower.
All that notice and they chose not to Test, Trace and Track. Even now their 'Lockdown' is Wishy Washy and hasn't gone far enough. Their obsession with Brexshit has depleted Health and Care workers by more than 10,000 who would be invaluable now.

The man is way out of his depth.

Its easy to say "all that notice" and sure things probably could have been done better, but its easy to forget that underfunded health care and insane military spending been the story of the Western world for a very long time, especially sinse the rise of all the neo-liberal bullshit.

Firstly we witnessed a direction no one else on planet earth was taking, now confusion

Overall too slow to act, even now way too many people out and about, advice about whether you can go to work is so ambiguous you can interpret it how it suits you.

He is trying hard and I really want to trust him, but so many lies have been told I'm finding it very hard

4/10

Need a proper enforced lockdown NOW get a grip...

Sadly pretty well all world leaders appear to be out of their depth, it’s like being chucked into a swimming pool without being able to swim for all of them

I am glad that his party won the last election. ..

First " Question" of PMQ 's from a Tory MP praising Johnson' s and the government's performance and thanking him for what he has done.... Thanks for NHS staff came in last of course.

And I thought that this crisis was meant to be de-politisised?

Exactly. There is no precedent for this, no training, no previous experience. What do some idiots expect? Solution by Friday, procedures and processes implemented over the weekend and back to normal on Monday? Blithering idiots if that's their criteria for doing OK!

This is a bit rich coming from you. You couldn’t work out from Boris’ confusion if you could go out in your own garden or not.

Some of us expected a bit more of a plan rather than " We are going to have to take this on the chin and we will lose family members while we build our immunity " . Not so good if you are one of the statistics, and not very empathic from the creator of " Operation Last Gasp " .

Good post because it highlights moor than one angle to this.

Economically they've been very good.

Social control has been a shambles, Boris just isn't an authoritarian and it shows. Lots of conflicting information coming out. Should've been managed better.

Medically, let's see where we are this time next month.

Sure. That'll come from the same source as the plan for when a giant meteor crashes on Birmingham, or any other unexpected natural disaster hits us, I suppose. Yes, of course the government will have a nice neat plan already worked out, all sorted in a few days with no fuss.

What's the weather like over there in cloud cuckoo land?

Oh, you don't do empathy either then ? Had a hunch that might be the case, hope you are prepared to " take one on the chin " ?...
