Stay alert ! What moron comes up with that? Did he stay alert when he was shaking hands with Covid patients?

I half blame the idiots that voted for this imbecile did you really expect anything different from a man that can hardly dress himself in the morning.

None of them give a straight answer to a question just don’t get why anyone would vote for any political figure from the current crop.

What a pathetic government. Too feeble to respond to questioning from a day time television programme. Mind you, given that Johnson runs into fridges to hide from journalists and was too scared by Andrew Neill to talk to him, is anyone with a functioning brain cell remotely surprised?

I have gone from superb to average and that is being generous. I think the bloke is not the same since he got ill. He looks like he has had the stuffing knocked out of him and all his confidence has gone

I'm curious how anyone could ever have thought Johnson was handling this superbly. He dithered in the first few weeks, criminally allowing Cheltenham to go ahead and being one of the last nations to shut down sporting events. Since then, it turns out he ignored 3 emails from the EU to contribute to their PPE procurement, he's bought a load of dud PPE from Turkey which it transpires isn't actually fit for purpose, he has allowed people in care homes to die and then lied about his reasoning in parliament only yesterday. And to top it all off, he's no longer sending anyone from his government onto GMB because Piers Morgan asks difficult questions.

He's a populist moron who is finally being found out.

I think Piers Morgan is a total ****. But he has a huge following and I think if you can get him on your side then you're pretty much set. Dodging him is ludicrously stupid as he's not going to let that go and he'll love the attention he's getting from that "Look at me my questions have made the government scared"

I imagine a lot of GMB viewers vote Tory as well so not a good look

Never under estimate the sheer pig headedness of a Tory voter. He’ll still be very popular at the end of all this.

It's not a competition, and the figures are far, far from complete.

I should think a clearer total will be available in 12 months time, then the critics can compare numbers (these are sadly people that have died remember) to their hearts content.

Well I hope Johnson comes good assuming he stays in the job.

I was hopeful last Sunday he would finally show some leadership, but all we are seeing in more chaos and widespread confusion

So just ignore all figures until it’s all over or in twelve months time? One of the less intelligent ideas I have heard.
We need to analyse and compare figures constantly, we need to be able to spot trends, alter strategy and reorient if required.
For example, 40% of all Covid deaths in England are people who live in care homes. You don’t think that indicates something has gone wrong in that area and needs to be looked at now, not in twelve months time? You don’t think it’s worth comparing ours to a country that has low death rates in care homes to see if there’s anything w scan learn? Now? Not in twelve months time?

Or do we just sit back for twelve months and hope Boris actually does know what he’s doing and in twelve months it’ll all even out across the globe?

Okay. Seems like a plan.

Care homes across Western Europe have been ravaged by coronavirus and in Spain alone there have been more than 16,000 deaths, many around the capital Madrid. The true number may never be known, but families are asking why so many of their elderly relatives were lost.

Thing is, you can’t really compare, can you. Too many variables :)

Yup.

But we had a number of weeks to prepare.

One of the things that the government learnt very well from the infections in South East Asia, Italy & Spain was how to protect the NHS. Sadly, their concern was not allocated in the same way to care homes who had patients moved into them (out if hospitals). You just can’t argue that in this area, the government hasn’t been a shambles. They did not prioritise the most vulnerable in our society.
