It's behind a paywall but I can have a good guess where it's going.

If you get blocked google the headline

Lets just say its not the kind of critique you'd get from Johnson's former paymasters

Can't read it either.

Does it say what Johnson is up to? Where is he? Haven't seen him on TV for days - not since last PMQ. Which may be worth watching tomorrow if he doesn't send an underling in, or Gove or Rees-Mogg.

Or am I not looking hard enough?

Maybe for the first time in his life Johnson is preparing for PMQs tomorrow by getting a grasp on the detail, and will be able to provide concise clear and factual answers to the questions posed.

Alternatively as per usual he has his feet up and will just wing it tomorrow.

It’s a bit like Where’s Wally, but without the stripey jumper!

MPs are obviously being briefed now to blame the science.

Keep your eye on interviews with ambitious non cabinet members.

It's been happening for some time.

I had an interesting chat with a mate this afternoon. Those Civil Servants behind the lecterns have three choices, resign and contradict the government, contradict the government and get sacked or try to be really, really subtle. (To be fair, she wan't that subtle)

Because in his words 'If you disagree and contradict the Government, you are undermining democracy'. In my words, 'if you contradict the Government, you are undermining the 28% who voted for them'.

We agreed to differ, because 'ees complicated' :lolol:

No, no they're not, and they don't.

Civil servants are not, and have never been 'in government'. Government is made up of democratically elected politicians.

Beyond that, I really have no idea what you are on about, and I'm afraid, it's fairly obvious you don't either

It seems to be a daily occurrence now on the briefings, that Civil Servants point out that no matter how many test targets you set and how many you 'do' (or send out!), it's pointless if you can't get accurate results back in a timely manner

How many hints do these useless f***ers who call themselves 'political journalists' need before they spot the obvious being put in front of them. It was exactly the same with the care homes. The figures and pointers were all there weeks before the press picked up on it, all it needed was a little bit of work.

If I could spot the potential problem and post about it 6 weeks ago, what were these 'investigative journalists' doing ?

I'm sorry if I'm diving in to another conversation, but tonight the government made it very clear that the statistics were 'deaths in hospital' because 'that was the way all other countries were reporting it'.

I have a horrible feeling that the true numbers are known, and for a number of different reasons, they are not being released. I believe the next detailed figures (from NOS) are being released tomorrow, and a week and a half behind the announced stats, may give some more information.
I'm still not convinced that we are getting accurate, comparable figures across Europe. Belgium are insisting that their fatality statistics include all Covid 19 deaths across Hospitals, Care Homes and Private residences, including deaths where the patient had coronavirus symptoms but had not been tested. They are saying that this is why their figures are so much higher.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8229275/Is-Europes-coronavirus-death-toll-DOUBLE-official-figures.html

There is also data coming from Italy, Spain, Ireland, Belgium and France that show Hospital deaths only account for about half of the fatality figures with 42-57% coming from care homes.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/coronavirus-deaths-care-homes-cases-uk-eu-italy-spain-ireland-a9463846.html

Meanwhile, we have the UK currently saying that they are only counting hospital deaths because that is 'how everyone else is doing it'. And today come reports of between 6,000 and 7,500 fatalities (depending on source) in Care Homes alone with no indications whatsoever of home deaths.

https://www.ft.com/content/9d6b46e2-55f4-4de1-ba21-f1ab9f14bcbf

https://www.itv.com/news/2020-04-18/7-500-feared-to-have-died-with-coronavirus-in-care-homes/

Now I know I am naturally quite cynical, but I can't help starting to get the feeling these statistics released are being 'managed' ???

It seems it's not just our PM who doesn't like a bit of hard work.

22 days boycott of GMB, not a good look. Wonder how long it will be before they threaten to revoke their licence?

WHO advice was to introduce IR scanning for CV at airports on Feb 12

Finally trials happening at Heathrow over 100 days later, still no guidance from government

That said BJ might have missed it, he was holiday then

Maybe they were delayed getting the equipment in because Johnson was laying in the road to block the bulldozers ?

So a handbrake turn on the charging foreign NHS staff to access the service, after just hours previously saying it was right...

This government may have won the election, but they clearly aren't currently fit to govern, they are getting so many things wrong at a time of national importance...!
