No one else here is confrontational? Are you serious? Have you ever seen the match threads? There are many who are more confrontational than me.

I have no issue with that, I give as good as I get.

Oddly people are rarely confrontational to me on here. Probably to do with what I do post and don't post. If they're confrontational to you it is probably due to what you're posting.

I'm not too sure how anyone gets to become a moderator but I like the fact that the mod in question posts along the same lines as everyone else and doesn't hide away just waiting to press the ban button when they see something they do not agree with .

It's much better to actually have a conversation about something you don't agree with than to just kill the subject , I'm sure if that were the case this thread wouldn't have lasted 2 posts .

V: Who are you? I can't ignore you, you pathetic excuse for mod.

Also V, the following day:
V: hands up who thinks GB shouldn't be a mod. He's nasty and mean and stuff.
<everyone>: Oh shut up you tedious dullard

You're basically a bhaexpress dog-shit rolled in London Irish glitter. Now please pipe down.

Personally I would blame Giraffe.

He has universal acclaim for the tracker, prior to that, he was just as dull as the rest, but as soon as the tracker got going, he has the boards eating out of his grubby hands.
Guinness Boy couldn't handle that kind of popularity, went up against it with an #alternativetracker and the rest his history.

It's a bit like Star Wars, only with tracker-force. Giraffe has the good side of the tracker, GB chose the dark side, fear, anger, suffering are the dark side of the tracker...

That’s quite a hateful imaginative narrative you’ve created there. I was right in what I said wasn’t I?

Over a quarter of a century NSC has always had a natural ebb and flow in terms of content, with ever-evolving rules and moderation.

But I can't help thinking that's it headed down a bad path over the past 18 months or so, with some regular (too regular) posters needlessly sniping at each other (without any wit or intelligence), reposting months-old posts or bouncing old threads to get one-up on others etc etc.

It's utterly tedious behaviour which is pushing users away (certainly some of my old friends).

Bring back flippancy and fun!

Practical suggestion: Try a 10-post-a-day limit for a while. It will stop the dullards commenting on every thread (they know who they are), and make users think about what they post.

Being serious for one post, the "should moderators be able to post like everyone else?" question is one that we ask ourselves periodically, and it's difficult.

At times, NSC can be home to some pretty robust discussions and these discussions are often the most fun ones. Should moderators be excluded from those, because of their status? It feels a bit unfair to have to miss out on a subject you hold strong views on.

The problem comes in that those involved in these discussions often hold grudges that linger on for weeks, months or even years and niggles continue to flair up between these keyboard combatants.

How we try to balance this, is that when a moderator does have "history" with an NSCer they sit out of moderating decisions involving that person so their personal views don't cloud trying to make an impartial decision.

We still get it wrong of course and, as a group, we tell a mod if they've gone too far. I've even banned myself for stepping over the line before.

Yes backing the club and the manager. Shocking behaviour.

I've always treated NSC like a pub, you walk in and chat with those your share common interests with, who you believe to be fair and reasonable people. Every so often someone pops in who you don't really want to engage with so you pick up your pint and go chat to someone else.

Name calling and pettiness have never worked on NSC, thankfully!

To be fair to the Mods, they let a lot go that I would have jumped all over in their position.
I have become increasingly intolerant of jizzmongers in my advancing years

So it's probably for the best that I am not one :)
