How Come The Albion Always Attack H/J Block End In The First Half

Just thinking it might spur on some higher form of attacking play if they did it in the second half instead.

Kicking into the prevailing wind in the first half should give an advantage in the second half.
Should being the operative word.

I think us winning the toss is to opt to shoot towards the away fans in the first half... which i personally prefer, sitting in C Block.... used to have the same thing at the Goldstone.. always preferred us shooting into the North Stand 2nd half. There were a couple of seasons when Gary Chivers was captain, and he always ALWAYS opted to shoot towards the South Stand in the 2nd half, in order for the North Stand fans to 'get right behind us'... total tosh Mr Chivers.

At Withdean, before this year, apart from two or three occasions, we've always attacked the away fans in the second half.

The away fans have now swapped ends. So, if this is the thinking, things would have changed this season.

It's obvious, therefore, that the important issue isn't where the away fans are sitting.

Far more likely is the fact that, on sunny afternoons, the sun (which is more of an irritant as it gets lower in the sky) is more likely to be a nuisance to visiting goalkeepers if they can be made to defend the east goal in the second half.

That only applies on sunny Saturday games, of course, but I guess that the thinking sets a pattern that might as well be applied to all games.

Yeah i should have clarified.. what i meant was we've generally always shot towards the East goal in the second half..

But isn't the point, whatever the advantage or disadvantage of playing towards the new tunnel end in the first half - 99% of the time we do. It's like there's some prior agreement. Can't be can there?

Always preferred us to shoot towards the North Stand in the second half at the Goldstone, we could roar the team on during the first half then suck the ball in during the second when energy levels started to flag.
