It's pretty sick but there's quite a bit of this sort of crap on social networks - people are protected by a computer screen so think they can get away with it and probably adore the attention. I've reported this anyway, revolting.

Have Facebook given a reason? Report it to the media -Facebook is a now a listed company ( I think) and has sponsors to think about.

These sorts of pages come up every so often and the best thing to do is just to ignore them, as the creator only wants attention.

I still have my account but I haven't logged on or used it more than twice in two years. I'd bin it completely but for my family who are far away wanting to see how the kids are doing and getting invited to the odd decent event.

Getting Facebook or Twitter to take stuff like this down is notoriously difficult. I've treated it with the disdain it deserves by not clicking on it.

I assume that the page isnt being shared around? Therefore people will only view it if they consciously make an effort to do so.

I say ignore.

If it is being shared about, then maybe people should make Facebooks big sponsors aware - I am certain that they do not want to be associated with a page like that. I recall NSC web host or google itself telling Bozza the same thing about Porn sites on NSC. That kind of pressure really concentrates the mind.

That is a tad patronising if you don't mind me saying so, I use it to keep in contact with friends and family that live far and wide throughout the world, and to keep in the loop about upcoming gigs etc.

I think to be honest your post is a tad insecure & immature.

The serotonin boost/affirmation that comes from getting a 'like' is very powerful for a lot of people (in a smaller way the Thumbs Up thing on NSC) and therefore addictive and controlling. Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror could do a good episode on Facebook. I feel as though I've done my time on Facebook and go on there less and less. Will it exist in a couple of year''s time?

Social media is such an amazing tool, the ability to communicate instantaneously to such a wide audience already does so much good for society, but it seems to be a double-edged sword in that it brings out the worst in certain people.

Ordinarily the worst seems to be acting like a bit of a tw@t from behind their computer screens (See NSC on occasion), but there seems to be a certain faction of the internet who use the anonymity to spread hate and make other peoples lives miserable. There are obviously psychological reasons why people do this, I'm not sure what they are, but this kind of extreme "trolling" is definitely a problem.

Such is life my friend, this could be posted by a Right Wing group as opposed to what everyone first thought of a Pro muslim person or group, whoever or whatever group posted it it is abhorrent.
