You laugh - I have a friend with MS who uses a motorised wheelchair, he was our guinea pig to test that the community gardens were accessible, he was fine in a straight line but if he tried to turn too tight he was wheel spinning. He's about 7 stone wet through but his chair was like an Austin Maxi, took about 3 of us to shift him. He's a good sport....

Great m, democracy at it’s best, tomorrow morning sees the dawn of a new era with a PM that no one really wants but he was better that the previous kunt and he’s a Tory all but in name

Just been, 2 in front then about another 10 built up while I was going through all the leaflets that had been put through my door to try & make a decision. Only a Green rep there chillin' in the sun. I'm tempted to go back & give her the 12 leaflets and letters that they have posted through my door and make sure she recycles them. A really unnecessary waste of paper. One or two would've been fine, I'm glad they don't send emails!!

They did indeed. Not seen anyone for years. Perhaps they can only do it if there is a police presence there? In fact this chap today was the first canvasser I have ever had knock on the door.

Very quiet just now in Seaford, apart from the edgelord tosser causing a commotion with a teller.

The usual quiet, but steady stream of people heading to the village hall.
It's a small village, (less than a thousand people) so they could probably get everyone in and out in an hour or so if they really tried.

I find it incredible that this is still the way we do elections. Little old ladies manning ballot boxes and writing a cross on a piece of paper. It's very quaint. My kids will piss themselves laughing at this when they are old enough to vote.

Postal voting changed it all, quiet polling stations are the norm.

Just been to mine, rammed, at least 25 people in front of me, and 40 odd queuing by the time I was done. Bit slower with the ID check and bloke on a temperamental tablet though !!
As an aside, I have a polling station 50 yards from my house, bloody annoying to have to drive to mine which is at least a mile away

Went around 4.15, about 5 people and 2 straining dogs in front of me. We had around 71% turnout last time round.

Anyone ever been exit-polled ? I gather they do it at about 130 constituencies, always the same ones.

Further observations from Preston Park (Knoyle Hall polling station). Just after 7am, the lady outside the polling station was representing the Green Party. No other party's representatives were present. Since then, on three seperate occasions nearby, I've seen three seperate Green Party representatives earnestly consulting voter lists. Again, not seen a single representative of any other party. I'm thinking that either the Greens must be a bit worried and Labour are being a bit complacent, either that or Labour have thrown in the towel already

Labour’s final polling average was 39%, less than Corbyn’s 40% in 2019 and Blair’s 43% in 1997. Not suggesting a landslide of votes crushing all the other parties. The split of the Tory/Reform vote has given the false impression to those not looking that many, many millions are switching red.

It’ll be interesting to see how this very unique constituency votes.

Just got back from mine in NE Derbyshire constituency, quite a small station but relatively busy, certainly more so than the last couple I've attended, albeit not GEs.
