Anyone attending the last few home games cannot have failed to notice the sheer number of Japanese fans we suddenly have, my point being some of the guys were in the north stand videoing us singing the Mitoma song and joining in with huge smiles.
As the only Japanese guy in our league with the ability to tear the other teams apart ( Leicester,Liverpool,Bourmemouth) just how big a super star is he in his own country ?

Gods country fortnightly
Japanese players in the PL haven't been too common, Soton had Maya Yoshida.

Mitoma is rapidly reaching superstar status

We were discussing this in the pub yesterday. Mate said there was a Japanese camera crew filming and even they were loaded up with bags from the club shop.

I hope they are getting their tickets through the official channels and not getting ripped off on these re-sale sites.

Perhaps (the camera crew) got press passes?

Has his National team manager been told? What sort of dick (Japanese Southgate?) doesn’t have him as first name on the team sheet?

According to the article below Minamino was the 9th Japanese player to join a PL club when he signed for Liverpool. So by my reckoning we are now on 11 with Mitoma and the lad at Arsenal.

Looking through the list I already believe Kaoru is the best of the bunch, I imagine he’s on his way to serious levels of stardom in Japan and will go down as one of their best players ever. If he carries on as he is at the moment he’ll be their best ever without a doubt.

When I got off the train at Southampton on Saturday night there were a couple of Japanese girls on the platform. As I passed them I said “Mitoma!” with a thumbs up sign. They looked at me as if I was a complete idiot - they were right!
I tried that here in Brazil and the girls just ran.
I later found out that Me Toma in Portuguese means take me.
