Has anything ever actually gone to the "drawing of lots" stage I wonder.
Surely they all have a ranking so it's not possible?!

In this case I fail to see how it could be possible, yeah. Its generally the last thing on the list for all UEFA competitions though, and you can have two clubs with identical UEFA rankings - they don't seem to bother trying to pick a nominal "higher" if the coefficient points are the same for clubs.
can someone please explain to me as I am confused about part of this rule.
I get the head to head bit, but last night watching the Poland Czech game, when it was 0-0 in that game and Greece were winning 1-0, they had the table up and said if it stays like this Russia (on 4 points) were going to win the group and Greece (on 4 points would be second)?
they're in play table at half time with 0-0 in poland game and 1-0 to greece was
Russia 4
Greece 4
Czech 4
Poland 3
now Czechs previously beat Greece 2-1 so why were they only third and needed to now win? their hth with greece is better?
and why were Russia top as Greece were beating them?
when Czech's scored they rightly went to top on 6 points but Greece stayed second and Russia went from first to third on BBC wtf
