Good luck to him if he moves there and does well. He's looked decent when he's played for us but it never really happened what with injury problems and the tactics/formation. That's just how it goes sometimes

Hopefully we'd be able to recoup what we spent on him in the first place.

"I like it here and if something happens then great as I like everyone here and also the management team," Hoskins told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Hmm that speaks volumes.

What did you expect him to say? Sheffield Utd are sh*t and BHA shafted me?

Well he could have said "I'm grateful to Sheff Utd for giving me playing time but I'm a Brighton player and want to go back next season and force my way into the team".

Disclaimer: This information is very much grapevine fodder and may actually turn out to be bullshit.

A mate of mine at work who is 1901 and claims to be in the know (or at least know someone who is) told me Hoskins had been acting billy big bollocks since his move from Brizzle, and whilst injured was regularly out on the lash spending his new found riches. Was told in no uncertain terms to refrain from such behaviour and showed no sign of improvement which didn't go down well with Gus and thus has led to the loan and, apparently, his inevitable exit in the summer.

Now I emphasise again I don't know if that source is reliable (friend of a friend of a friend stuff - which I never usually post as 99% of the time it's rubbish) but I'm beginning to wonder. Gus has history with a zero tolerance policy on his way or the high way (see Messrs Cox, Dickinson & Forster for the best examples), and the loan seemed so random when he'd just got back to fitness and was starting to feature in the 16, that the doubt is there whether there might actually be something in it. I dunno.

The loan took me by surprise but I can undertand why it happened. He was injured for the first half of the season and competition for places being what it is he went out on loan to get fit.

As a footballer you need to say the right things to keep options open. If Sheffield United get promoted , a transfer deal could be beneficial to both clubs.

Odd thing for me is Hoskins and CMS were two of our top summer signings yet we have struggled to get the best out of either of them

Let's hope we recoup the money we shelled out for Hoskins in the summer

True; the only thing is, he was at least on the bench for three or four games before he suddenly got shipped out. It wasn't like for example JFC or Harley at the moment, who can't get near the team because of the numbers in the squad. He was there, one of the 16, then next second, out he goes. Like I say I don't know how true the info I got is, in all likelihood it's nonsense, but there was something not quite right about it, Gus' comments at the time were sort of evasive and a lot of shrugging, that told me it wasn't your standard 'match fitness' loan.

Shame if he does leave, Truely feel he has more to give if he can come back fit and have a good pre season.
