Come on Wanderers!

I would really like to see my adoptive second team play in the Premiership next season. Only problem is that I see Keogh has come on for Iwelumo... McCarthy may have well come on himself. Keogh = useless.

That's probably Iwelumo out for the rest of the season and Carsley will get a three game ban max. It's about time the rules were changed so that the minimum ban lasts until the player injured plays again. Having said that Wolves will miss Iwelumo far more than Birmingham will miss a talentless thug like Carsley.

They said that he's fine no broken bones which is very lucky that sort of tackle could of been career ending

If these two go up next season's Premiership relegation battle is already over.

We've had this debate before- would never work as the vast majority of appalling tackles result in no injury or a bit of bruising. It would be open to abuse. What's to stop a club milking it by pretending their somewhat mediocre player is injured for weeks (when he may not have played even if fit) simply to increase the suspension of an opponents' star player at a critical point of the season?

Equally, some of the worst injuries result from very minor fouls- it's not particularly fair to suspend a player for a year, say, because of a slightly mistimed but ultimately well-intended tackle that unfortunately results in serious injury.

Birmingham have form too as that tackle was as bad as the Eduardo one last season, absolute f***ing criminal and time stuff like that copped a 6 month suspension without any wages.

That tackle was far worse than the one on Eduardo last year, you probably see as bad a tackle as that in most games if you care to slow motion every challenge, it just happened to be catastophic because Eduardo's leg was planted.

Carsleys yesterday was an absolute SHOCKER, late, lunging and knee high. As you've said (agrees with Ernest shock), it's about time tackles that are clearly as bad as that get some serious punishment. Also winds me up the way he acts all shocked and the ref must be mad to send him off, (unt!

It was a terrible tackle, made me cringe to watch he slo-mo replay. I don't think Carsley could agrue with whatever they gave him. However, I have never had him down as a dirty player at all, just gives it 100%, which is something most fans would respect. I think he knew as soon as he'd done it that it was a bad one.

O/T but since when has that muppet Bowyer been playing for City ? I must have missed that xfer, I was v.surpised to see him on the pitch.

I didn't see the tackle. I did think it was interesting that McCarthy has said that he does not believe it was malicious.

What a lovely chap old Mick is... Fergie or Wenger would have been calling for a lifetime ban!
