Home grown team

Hope nobody's done this before-couldn't find anything under search.

A couple of year's ago (when he was youth coach) Dean Wilkins said his ambition was for first game at Falmer to feature a team of players all born in Sussex.
What would be our best home grown team now? Here's my suggestion:

Sullivan

Rents
Lynch
Elphick
El-Abd

Cox
Fraser
Hammond
Hinshelwood

Gatting
Robinson

I think only Sullivan would be making his debut. How many other League teams could field an equally strong home-grown side?

I would think that team would hold it's own in the bottom division.

Depends what you mean by homegrown. If you mean born in Sussex then Hinshelwood couldnt be on there. He was born in Oxford.

Actually I was thinking both-born in Sussex and came through the youth system. Didn't realise Hinshelwood was born in Oxford. Did he move to Sussex before or after we signed him?

hinshelwood on the wing?!?!

anyway, as for other teams that could do it, didn't middlesbrough do it a few years back in the premiership and win?

You're right, I was bit lazy with midfield. Fraser on right, Hinsh in centre. Or drop Hinsh for Mayo as suggested and move Cox to right.

Did Boro really do that (would have thought they'd do well to put out an English team). Impressive if they did.
