On the FL show. Quite a compliment really

I thought we caught them on a good day. Not so much they are overall better team, but they raised their game. I thought the same applied to Liverpool as well.

Seemed to think Reyes was hard done by too.

Mind you, the Football League Paper described Reyes as "Played well up to a blatant red for going straight through Southern", so it just goes to show how poor some people's eyesight can be. They gave him a 6 out of ten. Personally I'd have given him a three and said he was fortunate to get that high.

Other highlights from the FL Paper: Tom Ince "6. Quiet game for the youngster who never really got into the game".

What, the same Tom Ince that spent half the game torturing Reyes and cutting into our penalty area at will, setting up at least one goal, before switching to have a go at Mattock? I thought he was outstanding yesterday. How utterly bizarre. And apparently Nooney "enjoyed an impressive afternoon". Granted, he was by no means the worst player out there, but "impressive" is stretching it rather.

I thought Blackpool looked pretty decent in midfield and up front, though I'd love to have seen what happened if we'd sustained our good start, as I felt their defence looked very static and there for the taking.

K Phillips got MoM (I'd have given it to Ince, can't help feeling Phillips wins it on name only), the other Phillips wasn't bad, and Taylor-Fletcher had a good first half, then an anonymous second. I presume the lardy idiot ran out of puff after several spectacularly unsuccessful dives in the box.

Compliment from Holloway there. They looked incredibly dangerous going forward, but looked vulnerable at the back. It was the kind of game we should have exploited CMS more, but we lost our way as soon as they scored the quick two. I can feel CMS scoring more if Vicente is in the squad; the way he quickly finds a winger like Noone in space can only mean good things for Macca.

For me, it was a bit like the Donny game but against a much better team i.e. started brilliantly, could have had a second, became very complacent, especially at the back, something which you can't do against a team like Blackpool. Not disheartened at all. Onwards and upwards!

I think I agree with all of that
