This 6 part series looks at Hip Hop in America.

As it is BBC Four it will no doubt be another outstanding music series well worth watching.

How long before someone opens the thread to let us know that "isn't music"?

Not including comedy posts in reply to this :)

Thanks, looking forward to that. Friday night on BBC Four is always one of the highlights of my week. Even if it's music or personalities I don't particularly like or know much about - Dolly Parton a couple of weeks ago for example - the programs are excellent.

Its definitely worth checking out Hip Hop Evolution on Netflix too, think it’s on its 4th season now. Really enjoyed the first series that examines the start of the hip hop scene in 1970s Bronx. The later seasons look at how different sounds came out of other areas of the USA as well as the East Coast/West Coast rivalries.

Thanks. As we’ve both said before, these types of BBC music docs are utterly superb.
