You should be able to get one, in whatever industry you've experience in. I would recommend you stick to either business analysis or testing. Whilst it is beneficial to have a good understanding of the testing environment, business analysis will lead to more career opportunities, and ultimately more money. Pop lynn.morriss@landg.com an email with your CV attached. Let her know what you're looking for in terms of a junior business analyst role and see if they have anything available, or something coming up.

EDIT: I actually know someone that will be looking for testers at some point in the future but the role is in Kingswood, Surrey. Assuming that's too far for you to travel though?

Small world, my sister used to live there, I didn't realise there was anything more high tech than a pig farm there. I would be willing to travel there. Do you know anything more about the role(s)

I am still looking. Doing some part-time cleaning at the moment.

I had an interview last week for a junior DBA Role, for less than half the money I was on 6 years ago. I could have done the job with ease, and unfortunately I think that was the main problem.

I just want to work, but it seems experience which is not recent does not count for advanced roles, but is relevant when you have more experience than people more senior when going for junior roles.

Rock, hard place and in between is f'ing frustration.

In my experience, if a recruiting manager is worried about bringing in someone with great experience, you wouldn't want to work for them anyway as they will be insecure and try to undermine you to keep their own job safe.

The lack of recent experience shouldn't be an issue if people can demonstrate what you have been doing to keep up to date with any changes in the technology. Even things like attending webinars will show that although there is no direct recent experience, you are making an effort to keep your skills current.

Keep going mate - it'll work out in the end.

I don't understand half of what you IT lot describe yourselves as and what a job ad actually wants but I know there is a webb site worth watching and at present they have a job in Italy for a Simulation software engineers / developer.
The Autosport Directory - Appointments
Maybe you could give us an idea of what job titles that are in you expertise so if we see anything we can point you to the vacancy ad.

My experience is actually in Financial Services and I live in Sutton so Kingswood would be perfect for me. My CV is already on L&G's database as they had a placeholder vacancy on their website for people looking for Business Analyst roles to express their interest, unfortunately none of the roles that have come up in the last few weeks have been Junior enough.
