An argument has broken out between myself and a mate. Which was the better of what we both agree were Zamora's 2 best goals for Brighton?

1. The magnificent over the shoulder, ball coming down from the sky with ice on it, beautifully timed, beautifully struck, keeper didn't move until the ball was in the net, volley against Halifax at Withers

2. The one-two with Paul Brooker (?), followed by a fluked 35 yard chip over an onrushing suicidal goalkeeper, that nearly missed the goal anyway, and was really an attempted pass to the right wing, away at Bury?

NB - Can you guess which one I think it is?

i have a sneaking suspicion you think it's number two

but i think his one down here against Barnet has to be mentioned, shimying through the defence to finish will nil concentration required!

i did like the volley, but everytime i see a replay of it, it seems its not as far out, making it less good

I also thoroughly enjoyed his one two and consequent stroke into the net at Orient. Plus when he took the Reading defence apart to score (having made a beauty for Melton and later providing Lewis with a chance he couldn't miss).

Actually, maybe his best goal was when he CHEATED at Chesterfield by kicking the ball out of the keepers hand and tucking it away. The irony of those whining gobshites moaning at him for cheating after that one was a joy to behold.

Accurately chipping a ball that is running forwards, away from you, is very difficult.

Personally, I think the Bury goal was best.

Don't underestimate the BRILLIANCE of the volley though.

The conditions were unbelievably SHIT that day, when Withers was a GLUEPOT and the skill needed to execute that volley is MASSIVE.

Nope. Anybody can do anything once in a blue moon - that's no argument.

The crux of the question is whether you believe hitting a dipping volley that appears from over your shoulder across the goalkeeper into the opposite corner is easier than chipping a goalkeeper from 50 yards out. To be honest, looking at the footage from the Bury game I reckon I could have done what BZ did there. The goalkeeper has made that so easy for him - look at his positioning!

For me, the volley he scored was particularly good because it came from a great height and from right over his shoulder. Plenty of players wouldn't even have connected with the ball, let alone get it on target, let alone score.

Simster is exactly right and i'm guessing from the way he describes it he's played to some sort of standard himself.

The simple fact is I could make that chip probably 4 times out of 10 because the goal was WIDE open and the keeper was not close enough to block the shot.
However if I made the volley 1 in 20 i'd be well chuffed!

How many chipped shots do you see anywhere near the corner flag compared to how many volleys go out for a throw?

Volley. The timing has to be 'just so' otherwise it would end up anywhere, the running chip is hard too, but not as hard if that makes sense!

Both F***ing quality though.
