Help PC Problem

When trying to load webpages for the last couple of weeks internat explorer keeps taking ages to load pages (I have broadband with a good connection).

After a while the page doesn't load and I get the 'page cannot be displayed' message followed very quickly by a page which loads up which looks like a search page with the address 'http://searchpage.cc/'.

Anyone know why this is happening? I have used Spybot to get rid of spyware but its still happening.

Ive just come across this (oh er!) on another board... the ntl connection is a coincidence. Actually, if they are doing somthing to prevent it, its tantamount to censorship, and i wouldnt be happy about that at all.

I digress. Dont rely on Spybot as it doesnt catch everything. The best anti-spyware is Ad-aware, but unfortunatly you have to pay for that, and even then it lets alot of stuff go by.

Best solution is to run a couple of anti-spyware tools if you get something, and check out AVG antivirus software that seem to prevent alot of the crap getting on your machine in the first place.

I've got ntl too and when I spoke to them, they'd had a problem with their server.
They advised me to turn off the PC and then the plug which has the modem plugged in, leave it 30 secs and power back up. Hey Presto, everything worked fine again.
Give that a try before calling their helpline.
Good Luck

like the Orange, im quite curious - rebooting your pc and internet connection shouldnt really do anything. you should have to delete various entries in the registry to flush it out ???
