Help Needed with FONTS in Microsoft Word

We have a LaserJet at work and certain fonts, when underlined, print out with the underline going through the very bottom of the letters as opposed to having a small gap between the line and the letters.

It looks fine on the screen, but not when printed.

Only certain fonts do this, such as Times New Roman, but others don't (CG Times).

Can anyone help?
Is there a setting that I should be using to avoid this?

Cheers :)

Increase the font size? The quality of printer may affect it to, for example if you got a relative cheap one.

Sorry, not much specialising in hardware so cannot help you that much.

It's not the size, I've tried that.

And the printer we've had for years and never had a problem with it.

Oh, I forgot, the same problem happens on a colour inkjet that we use occasionally so I don't think the printer is the source of the problem.

Try adjusting the line spacing or typing as you would if it were a report for a newspaper and double space your lines.
Hope this is useful;)

Sounds to me like a printer driver problem to me.

So obviously get the latest version for that printer and/or maybe connect the printer to another machine to see if the problem continues.

Check that your font size is an "exact" size and not something like "8.5" as the printer may have a problem rendering that particular font at that size.

Also try printing something out in that font using a simple piece of software like notepad as opposed to word, this may tie down the source document as the one having the problem.
