I remember being at a barbeque with him at Malcolm Stuart's that night, and he was bloody furious about the way we played. He was, however, far more annoyed at the fans for singing 'Bring on the champions' before kick-off.

I agree though, the outward arrogance he had at that time was what made him the manager he was.

That was the highlight of the afternoon! Great atmosphere. So many Brighton fans. So predictable that the team failed to turn up!!!

I was there that day (would have just turned 8 ) and I remember that so cleary. The bloke was wearing beige shorts. Not sure why I remember that.
