Long Sault, actually....

A transatlantic flight from Heathrow to Mexico City had to return to London two hours into its journey because of a "data discrepancy" concerning an American passenger.

WTF.!!!!!

How the hell has it come down to US authorities telling our airlines what to do? It's not like the plane was actually going to land in the US. And this all happened because of a "data discrepancy" concerning one of their own citizens. What sort of data discrepancy? Did they not have enough information from their own FBI/CIA/NSA databases on this particular person.

And the US government wonders why less people want to go to the US for a holiday. It's because they're a bunch of fascist idiots who want nothing but total control on telling the world what to do. It's about time somebody stood up to them and told them to "get f***ed".

Here endeth the rant.

Agreed - they're the worlds bullies !

A friend of mine went to Disneyland with his wife a two young children and was stopped at immigration control because name was simlar to the name of someone who was wanted. He and his wife were seperated and the children split from them as well. Six hours of questioning later they were let go without even an apology. The kids were scared out of their wits.

There's plenty of interesting and beautiful places in the world to visit without even going close to the country of the paranoid, knuckle dragging meat heads  I avoid the USA purposely - it's the only continent I haven't been to and I have no intention of doing so.

The USA and Britain are allies in the war on terrorism so it makes sense with the new airline security measures that each keep an eye on each other. I feel safer flying. Why get your knickers in a twist because you live in the Americas? You should be grateful to have Uncle Sam covering your backs considering what pusses you Canucks have turned out to be on the global effort at combating terrorism.

Sorry, but if you haven't been there I really don't think you can make such sweeping generalisations.

Having been to the USA a dozen or so times and visited at least the same number of different States I can honestly say I have never met a "paranoid, knuckle dragging meat head" there.

Hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a typical NSC moron who believes in stereotypes.

My last brush with US immigration was pretty hairy. Landed at Newark , showed green card and passport and the officer said "welcome back guys".
Contrast with Gatwick/Heathrow where I'm always quizzed on how long I intend to stay in the country of my birth.

Ah; Contempt prior to investigation, a bad thing according to Herbert Spencer.
