What is the worst thing that can happen when you spend three hours with your hands in a chemical, allbeit mixed with water, that it states on the bottle should be "kept away from human skin"?

What was the chemical? How diluted was it?

Lots of thing say avoid contact with human skin but not all of them make your skin shed down to the bone if you come into contact.

it was industrial cleaner - had a little toxic label on it, but i think that was purely for those who wished to drink it

it only dawned on me i usually wear gloves when using it once my hands started going a bit funny and i read the label

At worst your hands might go red for a couple of days. Warnings on chemicals, pills and medicine are always a load of crap. They have to over do it so that people can't sue them.
Also most use by dates on food are a complete lie

i discovered that when myself and a bloke at work challenged each other to eat items out of the 'not fit for human consumption box'

Use by dates (best before dates) mean f*** all, it only means that the taste would not be as good as it would be sometime before the date. But is still perfectly edible (in most cases) but just not legal to sell
