Hawkins, McLeod & El-Abd are major doubts for Saturday

Lynch in for The Hawk and we pray that all his fans are right about him.

Keep the midfield as it was against Southend and pray that McLeod gets better very soon.

MA spends the rest of the week on the phone trying to find decent season-long loan signings to cover the wing and the strikers.

No doubt about it hawkins is doing well at the moment. But just don't want to lose Lynch so I hope he atleast gets a start before the transfer window closes.
Hopefully can do enough to force his way back in the team...

Mcleod is the big concern.

It's the Joel Lynch Promotion Organisation swinging into action Easy. They can see no good in Elphick and/or Hawkins and see Joel as our saviour. Never let the facts (one goal in open play and the best GD bar four teams) get in the way of a good solid bit of bias.

Yep i can see no good in Elphick..

Thats why my display picture is Elphick and my favourite player.

And as for Hawkins he has done brilliant for us so far, but I still think Lynch needs a chance aswell at some point to give Micky a look at both defenders. Atleast if Lynch gets the next two games he could make a fairer judgement on who should be alongside Elf.

Lynch so often looks great but then gives the impression he's the Titus Bramble of the lower leagues. Can be so impressive for 85 minutes but WILL at some point produce a catastrophic error and cost us a goal. There are many times he showboats, loses it but has the pace to get himself out of trouble. If he can prove in the reserves that he has gained the ability to concentrate for the entire game then he will get a chance.

You have answered the question yourself!

You say that Hawkins "..has done brilliant so far," and if MA agrees with you, there is no way he is going to replace him with Joel just to "take a look.." It doesn't make sense.

and/or HseagullsH, and/or. Wasn't having a pop at you specifically - there's a little rump of Joel fanatics on here (WW et al) who take every chance they can to knock Elphick and The Hawk and promote Joel.

But I have to agree that one silver lining to losing a very good defender to injury will be that we can get a look at Joel and have some playing time to consider when the Joel's a god/clod debate carries on for the who,e of the rest of the season.

For the record I WANT Joel to be good and I want him to succeed, but if you gave me the choice I'd rather not experiment with a central pairing that have done so well this season.

But he will if The Hawk is injured - so it's a slightly silver lining I suppose.

Out of interest why do you think MA has not made a Fair judgement so far?
Lynch and Hawkins (as well as Virgo, Elphick and El Abd) had the whole of pre-season to make an impression. The solid defence we have had so far certainly does not prove MA wrong.

It was always going to be difficult keeping all the Cenre Backs at the club happy but they will all play during the course of the season. I honestly cannot see how having a player injured and having to change a winning team could possibly be seen as good news.

The best thing about this is we are fairly strong in the defensive area. Mickey Adams manages the right way and if Lynch comes in and plays well then he will keep the shirt.
