It's good business to be fair! Gus is putting together a team for peanuts (compared to the likes of Blackburn, Cardiff etc) that I think will be more than capable of pushing for top 6 this season... At least we aren't just chucking in all our chips in hope of promotion like 4 or 5 teams in the division.

I think all the players out apart from Noone were just eating wages and don't really fit in with the here and now.

Gus will need to spend some money on a prolific striker/target man though

None of those are actually 'out' yet? JFC is on loan, but I'd hardly call that 'out'.

Gus and Bloom have reaslised we need to get average players off the wage bill and replace them with real promotion player quality.

You do realise with the exception of CMS in your list who is still with us, that those incoming earn about double the wages of those outgoing? That tells you everything you need to know about our transfer dealings.

Wait until after the window closes tomorrow to see how much has been spent.

Exactly. Zero point in comparing ins and outs anyway... but when you include potential outs (CMS) but ignore all the potential ins then you're just twisting everything to suit you're own agenda, pottert

Bruno and PIG would have demanded quite a signing on bonus I would have expected. The players that have gone or are for sale are not part of Poyet plans for the season so it makes sense to move them on. JFC needs game time and if he's not going to get regular starts here then a loan move is always a good move. Although we have a larger number of leavers than players joining, the quality of those coming in compared to those that have left is out of this world. 4 signings, all from top flight clubs, 3 with Champions League experience, it's not about cutting any cloth, its about improving the overall quality of the squad.

i take all of the comments on board.

but are you seriously saying that we will sign players that we have been tracking all summer on the last day of the transfer window.
I think not well not for the price they are worth anyway.

Yeah I do actually - he's said time and time again that business could go all the way down to 11pm tomorrow night and it is looking that it's likely to do so.
It seems that the domino effect has to start and who knows who the first domino is that has to fall ? I was thinking that it may well have been Carroll coming to West Ham which would free up Cole or Maynard but, as Maynard has gone to Cardiff, he's not an option any more.
If it was to be Bothroyd QPR have signed about a gazillion and a half players during the window so . . . who knows - one thing is certain i don't but it'll be "squeaky bum time" tomorrow you can be sure of that.
I think also that he (or rather Tony Bloom) won't pay over the odds and pay any more than what the player is worth so I would not worry on that account

whoever we get tomorrow it will be 1 of 2 things

either

a squad player from a team looking to cut costs

or

an offer for a good player over his market value
