Flew home from there once after watching Lennox Lewis but cant remember much about it as I was pissed but if I remember well there were loads of bars and the 'natives' were very friendly

Ah the City of Brotherly Love......Sorry to tell you this but it is a dump. On the point of bankruptcy and decaying, even the liberty bell has a big crack in it. Its one if the worst cities in America. Only good things are the brownstone houses and the Black Dog Cafe and they aren't that great. If you dress like a homeboy then plenty of fashion buying opportunities.

Have a nice day.

Seconded - it's a shithole.

Used to have an office there but shut it down because the place is going downhill so fast.

Airport is a pain in the arse too.

New York is an hour away on the train.

Given that the chances are that either:

a) there will be stuff arranged

and/or

b) there will be some people there with experience of Philly

meaning that

c) whatever we say will be worth diddly squat anyway.

Oh, hang on, is this a new twist on the infamous "I'm going on holiday" thread?

The Constitutional Museum is worth an hour or so - close to where the Liberty Bell is displayed. I thought the airport was OK - better than JFK or sure.

the Amish market is pretty good - try an original Philly burger and don't miss out on Scrapple and Eggs for breakfast - it's a combo of offal and grits fried on the griddle - sounds vile but tastes immense

tend to agree overall though....you can only run up Rocky's steps at the museum & see the liberty bell once and other than that there is f*** all in Philly. You can do the Amish country tour and there are some interesting civil war battlefield sites not so far out of town...last time there for a week we drove up to New York two days and down to washington as well which kinda sayss it all. Even the out of town mall was more more interesting

.........................Oh and you can tour the graffitti sites

They have a punishment scheme where anyone caught putting up graffitti gets to help paint murals on derelict buildings (and there are plenty of those).....some of it is pretty good but it sure don't make it a tourist destination:lolol:
