I saw Harty this morning. He got a phone call from Portsmouth yesterday to confirm they could not bring a team down to Withdean, hence they have made the Charlton match his testimonial one.

There will be a Legends/Celebrity match before the main match , possibly Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey but that has not been confirmed yet.

Harty is now back in training following the all clear after fracturing his knee cap, so he is working up his fitness ready for next season, where that will be he does not know.

Yeah, you could well be right. I haven't a clue how these things work really. All I would say is that with friendlies at Withdean, we're likely to make a loss or very small profit at best, so I'm not sure what the opposition could claim.

pre-season friendlies are typically divvied up like cup games ... essentially a 50/50 split after expenses.

so yes - a really grand gesture by Charlton.
