Brezovan 5: Struggled with his kicking, a couple of suicidal throws similar to the one that got Virgo sent off at Leeds. Could have done better for both goals, the first he left a lot of space and the second he resembled an Easter Island statue in terms of mobility.
Calderon 9: Magnificent, right back, then left midfield, then auxiliary winger, shooting with his right, then his left, a diamond in a cesspit today.
Hoyte 5: Didn't do much wrong, but could have supported Bennett and Carole more. Should win more in the air ideally.
El Abd: 6: Won a lot in the air against a very physical 'Pool side. Could have closed down Monkhouse for the second goal.
Elphick 4: At fault for the first goal, although it looked as though he was bundled off the ball illegally. Too many slices and hoofs.
Bennett 5: Flattered to deceive, crosses tended to be either too deep or at the keeper.
Hendry 6: Looked a class player, but was kicked, elbowed and punched into submission by the opposition who clearly had earmarked him as a Billy Bigbollocks former England player, so gave him a 'Welcome to Division 3' party.
Carole 6: Looked very sharp, ran at defenders with pace and guile, but didn't make the best of two half chances that came his way.
Dicker 5: At times in the first half we were making very pretty patterns, and Dicker was always at the heart of them, without ever looking penetrating.
Navarro 7: Tidied up in front of the back four well, and even ventured into the opposition half at times. Again tidy but ultimately ineffective.
Barnes 5: Lacks the physical prescence to play the lone striker role, had one half chance after superb work from Seb and a 35 pass move that cut 'Pool to shreds in the first half.
Subs:
Arismendi 5; Gave ball away in centre circle which led to second goal, in general very good at breaking up play, and very powerful, but some shocking hoofs too.
Lua Lua 6: Gave impetus, tends to run into blind alleys.
Holroyd 4: Pinhead has the speed of Sonic the Hedgehog, but sadly also the finishing ability too.
Overall we looked superb with the wind at our backs in the first half, without ever truly worrying Flinders (hats off to him for having a good sense of humour), but didn't make use of it and 'Pool used the conditions well, albeit by kicking lumps out of us in the first half.
The referee was a wanker, he couldn't identify a spot on a teenager's face, let alone a foul, and the way he ignored the assault on Hendry in the first half which left his face bleeding was a disgrace.
