HM Revenue don't have much of a track record on prosecutions and even worse in opposing the secret world of football, but whatever happens there should be enough mud stick to screw 'Arry's chances of taking the England job

Where will they find an unbiased jury who wont have preformed ideas one way or the other or is this a case that is considered too technical for a jury so that a judge decides the verdict.

This is going to be highly entertaining. Harry is so full of himself, I hope the judge knocks him down a peg or two.

It's pretty obvious he is guilty. Just look at him. 2 years!

Given the case involves Harry Redknapp I very much doubt it will be 'too technical.'

I agree, this could get very messy. Presumably there is already more evidence than just a few disappearing brown envelopes with wads of cash to get this case to a court hearing. Wonder if Harry and Mandaric have got their respective stories together if not I can see the HMRC's barristers playing them off against each other. Could spiral into a right mess. Harry has consistently trotted out the 'I deal with football matters, the Chairman dealt with the money, I don't know the detail of the money deals....etc etc'. On the other hand I wonder what evidence Mandaric has up his sleeve to drop Harry in it and maybe save his own neck? Can't see the reputations of either man emerging from this without significant damage.

Presumably the hearing will expose even more of how poorly Pompey was being managed as a club so will be yet another unpleasant episode for Pompey fans to endure, just to add to their current woes.

Will be interesting to see if this gets into wider financial matters across football - I hope that the FA get some stick for their lack of an overview and also hope players agents will get some stick for their role. Finally will the case it change anything, if they are found guilty then it ought to be a watershed in terms of transparency for finance in football, however the cynic in me suggests not.

Agree. I did read that there are actually more significant and greater crimes but the HMRC settled on this one as it has a very good chance of a conviction. Time will tell.

The judge has confirmed that he WILL permit tweeting from inside the Court during the trial. Reminds journalists to report facts not opinion

get to get some idea of what is going on then

Press now asked to temporarily leave court room so there is space for all the potential jury members to come in for selection

Potential jury members will be asked series of questions, including their football allegiances. No chance of any Pompey/Spurs fans selected

what about West Ham they despise the man lol

If there is a " Money Trail " as HMRC suspect, it must have come from other parts of football or ancillary sources. I think there is an awful lot of conflict of interests going through all levels of football from the top to the bottom.

Could be lots more to come if the HMRC shakes enough trees.

I have not a clue if he is guilty or not, dont really care either.

What i can see is why Bozza etc was very concerned about people speculating on another thread at the top of this board!!
