But even if the tribunal sat when he joined them on 1 July the magic beans wouldn't have even started sprouting before the start of the season. and with the drought order they are even less likely to thrive. Feet-dragging means the panel sits again to dole out penalties - fines, points deductions, no transfer activity until full payment received etc etc.

And the transfer window only applies to the Premiership - not to us mere mortals.

Errr I think you will find that in theory we are subject to the transfer window now, but there is a way around it by using the loan system.

About 3 years ago, but the Football League managed to argue for dispensation but it kicks in this season.

Stupidly you cannot sign players permenantly when the window is shut, but we can bring them in on loan, so it is fairly redundant anyway.

Though you are limited in the number of loan signings you can make in a season, so we need to be carefull not to waste them.
