Leeds United have agreed terms with Ipswich Town on a swap deal involving Dan Harding and midfielder Ian Westlake.

Westlake is set to join Leeds in exchange for Harding plus cash.

Hope this is a high fee as we have a 20% sell on clause.

Ipswich Town's Ian Westlake is set to join Leeds United in return for Dan Harding and cash.

Leeds have been looking to bolster their midfield options of late and will now hold transfer talks with the 23-year-old.

The Whites announced they were targeting a new midfielder earlier in the week after allowing recent signing David Livermore to join Hull.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton confirmed his interest in full back Harding on Wednesday and now the East Anglian outfit are set to hold talks with the former Brighton stopper.

"Both players have yet to agree personal terms," Ipswich chief executive Derek Bowden confirmed to the club's official website.

I really don't know what is happening at Leeds at the moment. I've always rated Harding. I must admit I know nothing about Westlake.

We even had Carl Asaba on trial the other night. I'm looking towards the new season full of pessimism.

Ian Westlake is quality, very highly rated at Ipswich and I've been impressed everytime I've been to Portman Road and seem him play.

Insider has answered this now. "Even if it were a swap, a value would still have to be applied to the player". They will of course lie about that value to their mutual benefit, but we still get 20% of something. I'd say minimum £400K = £80k to tip down the Falmer black hole. Good news nonetheless.

i.e Leeds are paying for the Ipswich player and chucking in Harding as a sweetener.
