What level of MORON would you have to be to choose the week BEFORE the clocks go forward, for this initiative?

Literally the last week when people's 5.30 / 6pm ride home will be in the dark.

A noble idea, but I'm not setting off at 6am to cycle 19 miles to work, arriving as a wheezing sweaty MESS.

I cover the whole of the south of England and Wales in my duties. If you think I'm cycling you're mad.

I drive over 800 miles in an average week.

But imagine how much easier your working week would be if those that could, had the provision to safely do so, and did, ride to work?

Doesn't this woman know 'No Cycling is allowed on the promenade' also not wearing a safety helmet, and only dark coloured clothing so won't be seen in the dark.

Should've taken the bus :lolol:

I'm surprised there isn't a wannabe Tory councillor swinging his manbag into her face.

No one cycles on the motorway and trying to pass loads of sweaty old gits on their old bikes dug out of the garage, on country roads.......nightmare.

I'm aiming to start next week when it will be light both ends of the working day. 17ish miles and lucky to have a shower 20m from my desk.

As an aside, this recent public safety advert is causing a bit of a stir over here

Some people are asking why the ad uses a model in a lacy bra.

I'd imagine that the thought process behind the ad is to illustrate that even somebody who is likely very conscious of their appearance - of what looks good on them - STILL understands that the safety benefits of the helmet outweigh such considerations.

I guess also, if you need to choose one item of protection a helmet is a far better choice than, say, a blouse?
