I think you need to read up on bmuffs recent history...
Relegations, administration, points deductions, survival, rebuild, promotions, foreign buyout, nothing to do with the point I was making.

I like you. You seem fun.
In those 40,000-odd posts, there are a couple of dozen insults. They are strictly reserved for people who write really, really offensive, or really, really stupid things.
Quite. I'd go for pathetic rather than ridiculous, but the sentiment is the same.
This next season is going to be a massively important one for us, as it will show the clubs true ambitions. The main difference between us and the top clubs this year was that they had one or two 20 goal a season strikers. That may sound obvious, but our top goal scorer was Dunk, so even if we had one 20 goal striker this season, our goal difference would be +10, and I think you can safely say that with those extra 20 goals we would have another 20 points, putting us on 66 and just outside the play offs. We were lucky to scrape into the playoffs last year, and finishing just below them this year would then have seemed like a small drop in performance, not the massive one it was.
Bournemouth have had the perfect storm of an excellent young manager, co incide with some brilliant young players.
Lose Howe and a couple of their key players, the rot will set in and they'll be back in League 1 within 5 years.
I gotta say that I had to turn the Bournemouth celebrations off long before their end. Too many memories, of our time @ the Goldstone when we got up to the old Division 1 and two seasons more recently when we got to the play-offs. To me, Bournemouth and/or the evil ones from Sarff London are occupying our place in the PL.
The thread title 'Hang your heads in shame' is to be honest, simply ridiculous.
We had a few, one just captained Bournemouth to the premier league.
It should have been us
Selling Leo for 8-10 million and not replacing him with an 8-10 million forward line was clearly a very bad error.
For further proof of this look at the hat-full that Bent has got for Derby despite a long injury break and then remember how he looked so average here with any saying they weren't impressed. .

We ****ed up this year and have definetly lost our momentum but stop whinging. Nobody has a devine right to go to the Premiership just 'because'. They have an amazingly talented manager however much people on here seem to dislike him and are enjoying their days now. It's cyclical.... They might be back in league one in a couple of years(although I very much doubt it with Howe still there) and we might get our turn. Unbelievable how everyone thinks we have a God given right.
No. Our problems this season were entirely to do with the service to our frontmen, who I will concede are also not good enough. However it was plainly obvious from half an hour watching Bournemouth looking at how they moved the ball in midfield, regularly got behind the Bolton defence, weren't afraid to shoot when the opportunity arose and clearly had an understanding amongst their forward players that throwing money at expensive strikers will be entirely wasted without fixing he simply abysmal midfield first will do no good.
For further proof of this look at the hat-full that Bent has got for Derby despite a long injury break and then remember how he looked so average here with any saying they weren't impressed. Bent is a top striker in this league but we gave him barely anything to work with. That is our problem and has been now for a long time, it has simply got worse as our better players have not been replaced adequately.
Agree couple of decent strikers lb cb and not too many lomas we will be fine. This next season is going to be a massively important one for us, as it will show the clubs true ambitions. The football we have played at times has been brilliant and very entertaining. We have had great possession and dominated games against all oposition, including the top teams. But all that lovely passing and possession means nothing as we failed due to our ability to either get the ball into a striker, or the inability of our strikers when they have got the ball to put it in the net. Success is built on momentum, and with a decent striker and a bit of luck, i think we could have had another great season, but it wasn't to be.
The margins in this league between failure and success are so small. I think we have the nucleus of a good Championship team, and the addition of two or three quality players would make us into a Championship leading team. So next season is all going to ride upon whether we can hold on to our decent young players like Dunk and Ince, as well as adding to the team with a quality left back, and two strikers. If we can do that, I think we will all be happy.
At last.
Someone with the sense to see what the real problem is. All season long I have read post after post on here berating our strikers about their failure to score when all along the problem has laid elsewhere. It took the signing of Kayal to show everyone what we have been missing. A player who looks forward all the time. A player who carries the ball and ups the tempo of the game and sets up play. The better teams in the Championship are full of these types.
Our front men have had no service. No creativity from midfield. No accuracy from crosses or deadball setpieces. It is embarrassing how bad we are behind the front-men. Bruno, Calderon and Bennett are absolutely hopeless at crossing the ball. We have no deadball specialist. KLL isn't used enough and March has been out injured. Is it any wonder these guys don't get goals. No one would, with this lot playing behind them.
It is the single most important area to address. Provide the service and the strikers ( whoever they are ) will start scoring.

We've had lots of shots off target, which suggests the creativity is there. KLL isn't used because his attitude has changed this season, Kayal, Stephens & March (when fit) have provided chances as have Bruno & Calde. The goals we have scored have been from the defence because the forwards have been so abysmal.
We need strikers who have good positional brains, guile to beat Championship defenders, and ability to shoot at goal without playing a 'backpass' to the opposition keeper.
Somebody pointed out that Bournemouth, when scoring a goal, had three or four players in the area, whereas we're lucky if we have one. It's so easy for teams to nullify us.
