Hammond out of FA Cup tie

Dean Hammond
Albion will try to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1993 without captain Dean Hammond.

He was unable to train today and has been ruled out of tomorrow's third round tie at home to Mansfield with the strained left knee he suffered in Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Bournemouth.

Paul Reid and the well-again Tommy Fraser could now partner each other for the first time in the centre of midfield.

....and of course the fact we have also lost 3 other key players doesnt play a part does it.

He is not that important. We lose without him, we lose with him. He adds little to the team in my opinion.

He's out and we lose at home to the 2nd worst team in the country. Do some of the thick fans STILL think he is unimportant to us??
Agree with you bud. Hammond may seem like he does little on the pith but that is due to ball watching supporters. His workrate and influence in the game are bigger than anyone else's IMHO

So, we had a few players out?

Mansfield, 2nd bottom in the whole league, also had a few players out including their main striker. They didn't need him against our defence.
