Was abandoned at 3-3 "due to a serious injury."

Jesus, that must be bad! Mendes was having a fit on the side of the pitch after Thatcher nailed him, and it didn't shock anyone enough to abandon the game, and the Cameroon game played on after Foe collapsed and died in the centre circle.

I sincerely hope that someone has over-reacted in this game, but I fear the worse.

Hamilton's Scottish First Division match against Clyde was abandoned after 75 minutes following "an extremely serious injury" to an Accies player.

An Accies statement read: "The first aiders were called onto the park immediately and an ambulance was called to the scene.

"After 15 or 20 minutes the stretcher was lifted into the ambulance and he was seen to sit up on the stretcher."

The player involved has not yet been named by the club.

So it was an injury that meant they couldn't face playing on, but he left the field conscious, so presumably it wasn't life threatening. Are we talking a David Busst-like leg break? Must admit I wouldn't have fancied playing on in that game if I'd had a decent view of that injury.

Jimmy Bullard picked up what sounded like a nasty injury today for Fulham at St. James Park.

Harrogate v Hinckley was also abandoned today, after 25 minutes.

Matty Gadsby collapsed on the pitch, they were doing CPR all the way into the ambulance but he has since passed away.

He was hit full on with the studs into his throat and swallowed his tongue, while he was being given first aid it all got nasty on the pitch and all the players had to be separated and sent back into their dressing rooms and the ref called it off then.

Taken from the BBC Website:

Hamilton's Scottish First Division match against Clyde was abandoned after 75 minutes following "an extremely serious injury" to Accies' Ross McCabe.
The 18-year-old was taken to hospital after being treated on the pitch for 20 minutes after a blow to his neck.

But Accies secretary Scott Struthers said: "He is sitting up and will be kept in overnight."

The match, abandoned with the teams locked at 3-3, is likely to be replayed a week on Tuesday.

An Accies statement read: "The first-aiders were called on to the park immediately and an ambulance was called to the scene.

"After 15 or 20 minutes, the stretcher was lifted into the ambulance and he was seen to sit up on the stretcher."
