High up on the South Downs.
There's a good real ale pub near the football ground. Typical Pennine town built of local stone and a bit run down - better place than Burnley. Their supporters seem a good crowd but the club kept postponing matches against us.

Went to one midweek game there that was called off at 7.00pm just as we pulled up outside of the ground so went straight to the pub.

Better - got there, been tipping down, they'd played rugby on the pitch the night before, game called off. Went across the road to the little park to see the Brighton squad doing laps, had a little chat with Micky, Bobby and Danny. Excellent!!!

I live down the road in Huddersfield which is by far the better town - It's ok just avoid the following areas Ovenden, Illingworth and Mixenden apart from that not to bad - town centre can be a bit rough on a fri/sat night but so can anywhere really if your in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Colloseum night club worth a look in as the birds in there wear literally nowt even in the midde of winter.

I was there too. What was so annoying was that it hadn't been raining for more than four hours but the pitch was cut to ribbons as a 'vital' Kids Rugby League game had been played on it the night before. When Halifax went out of the league I wasn't too upset !
