Excuse me but if anyone is starting a "Stink Bomb Protest" in a fast food restaraunt in the near future, can they post times and dates so the day out shopping isn't completely ruined.
Just out of interest, what exactly have McDonalds done? (With references if possible).

There is still no answer to my and many others' question as to what this does for animal rights ? Celebration of stink-bombing doesn't mean anything whatsoever.

"stop killing animals" is unworthy as a stance. Personally, I am not about to eat animals alive, so killing them first seems humane enough. They kill each other to eat, and we are top of the food-chain . Cruelty is wrong (i.e. 'veal', weak meat that pork beats for taste hands-down anyway) and excessive eating of animal meat is wasteful and unnecessary (so consider cutting down).
Many people eat meat with every meal (most overcook the veg too - raw peas are way better than cooked for instance) and this is not necessary . Cutting down would be a reasonable idea for those considering that animals are over-bred and over-consumed.
People should also be made more aware of how meat gets to the market - as buying sterilised styrofoam-packaged shrink-wrapped steaks is way too easy for us to ignore what it meant for the creature.

I appreciate that as a worthy stance for 'vegetarianism' (this may or may not be the word) but I have some difficulties with that argument; vegetarians have to supplement their diet with pills so they don't become anaemic, so there I'd say is some proof that our metabolism requires meat for maximum nourishment.
Our teeth are designed to chew meats - I wouldn't require molars like mine for broccoli alone, or snip asparagus with these incisors, so why the inordinate weaponry in the dental department if meat is off the menu?
Why does meat taste good to me, if I were not supposed to munch on it? Roast chicken, yum. Braised lamb - delish! Beef burger - lovely. Pork chop - superb . Barbequed ribs, great, poached fish magnifique ! etc.
All native cultures are found to be meat-eaters by nature.
We have skills to fish using our intelligence, farm, hunt and trap for our dinners.
It is not a failure or shortcoming of our evolutionary intellect that we simply obey our own human instinct, but more that it's a freedom of choice for us to decide what to subsist on. I personally disapprove of wasting animal parts that are not seen to be 'aesthetically desirable', and I'll let my dog have the grissle off my porterhouse steak, and the skin and bone from my leg of lamb.
As a thinking human, I choose to eat meat, and I don't want any fanatics messing around with my freedom and I'm not about to criticize vegans for their decision.

That's my outlook on meat-eating, and nothing against people who don't eat it.

I have yet to hear why McDonalds has done wrong to animals though - and have to imagine that this thread was childish pranking and pretty weak 'bravado'....... until someone corrects me on it.

As a vegetarian, I have to disagree with you NMH, you get get all the nutrients found in animals in plants, nuts and seeds. The only deficiency that vegetarians experience, is vitamin B-12, which can only be found in meat.

Vegetarianism is a word and a very healthy way of life. I have been so for 14 years now, and I have hardly had any illnesses or problems with this diet, it also keeps the weight off too.

To all those that seem to be getting all angry about the animal rights stuff.

One controversial McDonalds effect is that they increase the consumption of animal products by asking low prices. This makes McDonalds more responsible than other restaurants.
The size of their organization makes it possible to buy cheaply and efficiently. But the threat exists, that other chain stores will copy this concept and will buy even more cheaply and less responsibly. So McDonalds is tempting others into the same or worse animal exploitation. The urge to expand weakens the resolve to think about animals and employees even further. McDonalds represents what many call a scrupulous American "big capitalist".
McDonalds operates on the international market. They can only be competitive if they (under the guise of efficiency) cut back on the social conditions of personnel and the welfare of animals. They also have to offer a reliable and fair quality, otherwise their image will suffer.

Their working efficiency has now been taken so far, that others had no choice but to follow it in order to stay competitive.
