I’m not sure about that if, as reported, Roberto has a €15m release clause.
I think that even if Roberto isn’t happy with what happened in the Jan transfer window he’ll need to knuckle down and get on with it, to continue getting the results that will keep him in the limelight.
If he stays another year on his original contract then that release clause becomes less valuable as his contract will be running down.
If Roberto does want to leave due to a great offer coming in from a ‘big big club’ then let’s hope they have the cash to pay that release clause. If Roberto thinks Tony will cave in to a ‘strop’ then he’d be wrong.
I think Roberto will see we are serious about advancing at the end of the season with our transfer business. However, if a Liverpool or Bayern come in for him and they are prepared to pay the release clause, then he’ll go.
I’m sure we are working behind the scenes on the succession planning.
Any release clause is unlikely to vary with time……..

Ah but that might depend on whether: Ten Hag goes to Bayern…. Mourinho goes to Newcastle …Smug Eddie goes to England … Amorim to Liverpool … Xavi to Spain … Tuchel to Barcelona … Alonso to Chelsea… Poch to Boca …Southgate to Man U …De Rossi to Argentina …

Yes, release clause different to paying out a contract (which is the normal ballpark figure talked about for compensation for releasing managers from their contracts so they can join new teams).

I think the club will sign their targets anyway, not overly swayed by the manager in situ.
The days of a Taggart or Wenger running football op's from top to bottom are rare.
Based on no concrete evidence whatsoever, I'm not 100% convinced that Roberto sees it that way!

] told us that RDZ was the driving force behind the signing of Dahoud, whilst the club/Starlizard were behind all the other acquisitions.The only doubt from the ITK posters was about the signing of Fati, presumably waiting to see if he 100% bombs, whereupon he’ll be labelled a RDZ pick.

Not the actual amount but in time value. Doesn’t his current contract run until the summer of 2026? Plus my understanding is that he can’t leave during the season, which means he can during the summer if any offer comes in that he wants to accept and the release clause is met. Therefore by the end of next summer, if he’s still with us, and he hasn’t signed a new contract, his current release clause has limited time value.
Whatever, I just can’t see Tony sacking him. ( however, he did with Poyet, when he breached his contract, which kind of scuppers my argument!)

If the club already has a £9m loan to buy deal, in place for free transfer Dahoud, he is the very epitome of a StarLizard transfer.
There is a report in todays Metro saying Bayern have been in touch with RDZ with a view to him being Tuchels replacement. TBH that would be a really good move for him imo. Top squad, relatively easy league, underperforming side, and Champs league football.

Think that would be the perfect move, from his point of view. Then the Man City / Liverpool type job can come after that.

Managers get away with it here because are fans are so passive and accepting. It definitely won’t be that way at a top club as Mr Potter soon found out.
