[Albion] Gut feeling - RDZ staying or going after this season?

The 'worked out' thing is laughable. One thing I've really noticed in this country in the last few years is that people here don't really place any value on people learning things. It's always 'xxx isn't good enough, replace him with xxx' rather than thinking that now xxx has been through this experienced and learnt lessons, he will be much more valuable moving forward. It's like when people used to get angry when Potter said he'd take the positives and learn from something, as if that was somehow a negative. I find it really odd.

I totally agree. I saw an interview with David Moyes a while back where he talked about this. That he was known for his management skills as they were at the time he was at Man United, and people still thought of him as that guy rather than one who’d learnt from his time in Spain and elsewhere. That even when those jobs didn’t go well, he’d learnt things and was now bringing that learning into his work at West Ham.

Whatever you think of his style, it’s hard to argue that he hasn’t done a good job given they were perennial relegation battlers and now are a side that’s comfortably battling for European positions each year, and won a cup!

I don't believe a club of the calibre that RDZ wants will step in.

I can't quite put my finger on why I've had such an out of character turn around, but I'm kind of done with Roberto now.

Yeah, what we really want is to still be a bit shit even when we've got all our players back. Then we can be happy.

Unfortunate that virtually the entire first team medical / physio set up and the club doctor decided to seek new opportunities mid-season on one day last autumn.

What am i missing about this post?

We changed club doctor/medical staff mid season? They quit? Were sacked?

Yes I’d like to know more about this too. I’ve seen a few comments on here about it over the past few months but I have no clue what happened? Totally passed me by whatever it was.

My gut says he is going purely on the basis that a number of very high profile jobs are coming up at the end of the season. I think he’ll want to leave while his stock is highest (understandably) and I won’t begrudge him moving on in the close season. We’ll also get a little bit of money for his remaining year of contract and he’d go with my heartfelt thanks and best wishes.

That said, if none of the bigger clubs want to take a chance on him, he’ll stay, regardless of our transfer business. I don’t think he’ll pull a Gus.

Example scenario: we invest big in the summer, then Liverpool or Barcelona or Real Madrid approach for him. He’s going regardless of what we spend/“ambition shown” - it’s just common sense and anyone would do the same.

You don’t dare question Tony in public as far as I’m concerned, that was enough for me. People can criticise Potter for different things but in all his time here, he didn’t once voice any criticism of Tony, Barber or the club in public.
