Kuszczak,
Bruno,
Bridge,
Crofts,
Hammond,
Orlandi,
Lopez,
Dobbie,

Have I missed anyone???..All added to a squad that finished 9th last season and now he wants an overhall....Go for it Gus, i'm sure you will bring the right players in, or maybe we already have the right players. Just a few things need changing.

I don't think we need an overhaul in January. We clearly need a goalscorer and we would be so much higher in the league if we had a striker who could convert their chances. Think how many games we should have won and have dropped points in. Add this one player to the team and we could easily make the top 6. Obviously Wood, Austin and Graham would all be great but I think we would need Norwich to come back in for CMS, which sounds possible.

The only other player we need is a centre half. This could be competition for El Abd and Greer but I would prefer to buy a first choice centre half (if the money is there) as I think we may need two new first choice centre backs for next season (assuming we don't go up).

Inevitably one or two players will leave but I don't think a lot will. As someone said earlier in the thread, the real clear out will come in the summer when a lot of our back up players are out of contract.

So, clearly Kuszczak, Bridge and Bruno have massively improved us defensively. Hammond has done okay in midfield and Crofts is starting to improve after a difficult start. Orlandi was playing really well before his injury and even Lopez has started to show what he can do in the last couple of games. Dobbie is the only real disappointment so far as he looked great while on loan at Blackpool.

Yes, we are only two points ahead of the equivalent point last season but we clearly are a better side. Last year we hardly created any chances but this year we have had almost the most shots in the league. We are just lacking that one striker whereas last year we struggled in a number of areas. Obviously though you will disagree as you want to take every opportunity to slag off Poyet.

I am merely point out that he added eight players to a side that finished 9th last season and really should have finished higher that that, considering where we were with a dozen games to play. We have played half a season, the table doesn't lie, the side clearly has a weak underbelly through the spine of the side.

I don't agree we have got a weak underbelly. We are lacking one player. The defence is fine, the midfield for all the criticism some players get has done fine although they don't score many goals, the only thing we lack desperately is someone to score goals. That is a lot closer to a top six side than we were last season.

You say we should have finished higher than 10th last year but on what basis? We had a really good run when we were playing mainly weaker teams and then struggled late on against the better teams. We had a run of difficult games and 10th in our first season back up was fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose, it just would be nice to see some positivity sometimes rather than just moaning.

The biggest addition to the squad this January will hopefully be the return of Vicente.

This is the guy that will get us into the play offs.

Totally agree. We are 1 or 2 players short of being a very good side. We are not losing many games, we need to turn draws into wins. Most of the summer signings have done or are doing well. There is lots to be positive about.

We could use greater quality in the spine of the side the more important positions e.g. central defender, central midfield and striker.

Cardiff have Hudson, Whittingham and Helguson.

A new centre back, Vicente to get fit and a new striker. We would need them in the Premier League. But we cannot afford to buy them right now. Wages would be too much. Chris Wood might be OK up front, but where would a central defender come from? Young players tend to make mistakes. Experienced Premier League players cost a fortune in wages.

There might not be any incomings in the transfer window in January?

I was just looking at the same info for the same reasons! Out of those Barral only recently signed for a Turkish club and Kone doesn't seem likely, Ruben could be a possibility but I can't really see that happening either. Any other possibilities?

Two words - spot on.
