Cjd is 100% right.

The problem is how racism is perceived around the world.

I can understand our Manu friend getting all upset as they have now had two high profile incidents, Suarez/ evra and cantona.

I read it that gus is surprised by our reaction as this is commonplace all over the world and just because we think it abhorrent, we shouldn't be surprised or precious if foreign players act the way they would at home....trouble is the John terry incident adds this to the scenario.

The bottom line is if you abuse someone because of the colour of their skiin and nationality and use that, then you are a racist...full stop. The are laws against this sort of shite and they must be obeyed by EVERYONE not just a cross section and foreign players must realise this if they come to play in this country.

Wher it gets complicated is that the president of the world governing body thinks it acceptable and people should just " shake hands"

That rules Gustavo out of the Manchester United job, however his chances of managing Liverpool have rocketed. Swings and roundabouts.

He didn't get the nickname "Radio" for nothing.

actually its not. At first it was funny when I posted there, but then I realized they were really defending Carrick and Evans after horror performances.
Considering the time zone differences i think the indians usually just watch highlights or something day after the game.. its shocking.

And we care because?

United fans can take a long walk irrespective of what Gus said, which to be honest was not his place.

Part of me dislikes united fans more than palace, especially if they've never lived north of Birmingham. For what its worth also, Evra is a **********

Hi all,

Manchester United fan here (from manchester). Firstly apologies for the idiot so called United fan on here insulting your team. Were not all like him and I felt I had to come on here to say that.

Good to read this thread and the sensible non blinkered views that have been posted in the main.

Always liked Gus Poyet just not really sure this is a fight he should have got involved in. Appreciate he wants to defend his friend but to the national media is not such a good idea.

Found this site from a link on the main United forum RED CAFE.NET. May be of interest for you to read what more balanced United fans think of Poyets interview.

Anyway good to read some of the comments and hear and good luck this seasson.
Why would we be interested in what Man Utd fans have to say any more than anyone else?

why am I homophobic? Maybe I thought of sucking off as a positive thing? but since u're claiming its homophobic it just means that YOU thought of it negativly. That makes you the racist in here.

Whereas you are a Man U fan. That's lower than pond life in my book. They ought to make you sign registers and have your own benches and seats on buses away from us normal folk. Admitting being a Man U fan is the only reason I would put my sons up for adoption. I would love them no matter who or what they are except if they supported Man U.

Heaven forbid someone you might say something about a minority without thinking and people might get offended.

If only there was an example in the press at the moment I could refer you to.
