Have any of you watched the press conference where Gus is asked about Di Matteo? What comes across, to me anyway, is that he is so disappointed with Chelsea treating someone like that. Gus is an ambitious manager, not someone who would throw their career away. Gus knows he could not have a long term project at that club. I would think there is more chance of Ray Wilkins taking the job than Gus.

I suspect this thread is just more wishful thinking from the Gus out brigade.

If Chelsea want him, they'll get him. He'd be mad not to go. They may be a basket case of a club but he'd have a chance of winning any of Europe's top trophies. And when they sack him, his reputation would still be intact because everyone knows Abramovich is trigger happy. He'd be far better placed to get another top job than if he'd stayed here.

Let's hope Roman stays true to form and wants a far bigger European name. He took the club legend route with Di Matteo but clearly never felt he was a glamorous enough appointment.

Chelsea legend or not - there is NO WAY in a million years that Chelsea would go for Gus unless he done something remarkable.

I don't get why so many of you think that the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS would go for a manager with NO Premier league experience, no other top flight experience, no trophies on his cv and no major achievement...(abramovich would not consider winning league 1 an achievement!)
