With Clive Tyldesley, who has to be the worst commentator of the lot, they make a wonderful team, don't they? Not forgetting Big Ron, who I think Townsend followed. Regarding Gus, just a couple of points. Firstly, it's forgotten that he left Chelsea in 2001 (or 2002?) Abramovich's knowledge of him is probably similar to that which John Gregory alleged of Dick Knight towards Gareth Barry. Secondly, I would think Abramovich would need his ego massaging by someone of far greater calibre than Gus. That said, I wouldn't put it past Gus to apply for the job.
