I need to stress I'm NOT the person with the iPhone !!!!

When you "burn" CDs into iTunes on your PC they automatically get synced up to your iPhone. How can you delete them from the PC without automatically deleting them from the iPhone ( i.e. the PC is running out of space but the iPhone has loads left so I need to free up space on the PC to continue transfering ) ?

I don't think you can. If you're really that short on space, external HDs are really cheap these days.

Well that's one hell of a design flaw then - good old Apple !!!! So seriously, you need to make sure you have at least equal space on your PC than you have on you iPhone ???

Under normal circumstances I would agree with the external HD but my girlfriend is currently out of work hence why she is putting all her CDs on her iPhone !

I agree it's a poor design but I assume Apple thought that all computers should have more than 32GB available these days... She could always load it up and sync it then delete the music and just not sync the phone again...

Who the fook has LESS space on their PC than on their iPhone?! :D

Anyway, you could use iTunes Match, then DL (without syncing to PC) whatever of your collection you want. You can also delete your PC version (but can re-download it again later).

Not the real one
iPhone's and pad are set to mirror what you have on your Pc/mac. If you don't want it on your iPhone, delete it from your computer. It's simple. Most things Apple are simple and easy, that's what makes them so great.

Not quote true anymore what with iCloud etc. You can buy a song in iTunes via your iPhone and never have it on your PC.

Anyway, I think you mis-read the OP, he wants to delete it from the PC BUT NOT from the iPhone.

far from being a design flaw, i think you'll find its deliberate design as part of the DRM.
