Three centre backs available for Cardiff so who misses out?

Upson looks a class above so for me it is between the skipper and our Egyptian international. Tough call.......

To me, Gus has always been pretty true to the old adage of whoever has the shirt keeps it until training/match performances elevates someone else above that person. Right now, El-Abd and Upson have looked pretty good. That said, I'd be intrigued to see Upson and Greer together.

We've looked shakier with Upson than we ever did with Greer & El Abd.

(I do understand that's probably more to do with game time and won't necessarily be the case in 14 games time).

No need to hurry Greer back in.

ElAbd is 2 yellows away from suspension - that could be Greer's chance.

Drop El-Abd, we miss Greers ability on the ball and his decent forward passing. Upson is so much better than these 2 so he needs to play.

From memory, since Greer came to the club specifically to be Gus"s captain , he has always cime straight back into the side after an injury absence or susoension. Will Tuesday be a first? I am far from convinced despite el Abd's good form. I also cannot see us playing three centre backs against a side who attack from wide with pace. One has to miss out and I really can't decide who.

If Adam hadn"t completely lost Dann for Blackburn's goal and if we weren't facing Hudson who will also arrive late for set pieces, I would say leave it as it is and if there is any doubt at all about Greer being fully mobile I think that is what will happen. But if Greer is fully fit I can see him and Upson offering a calmer and more controlled central pairing.

El-Abd and Upson.

Greer will have to earn his place like everyone else, plus he can't be match fit after missing the last three weeks.

If this is true, form in training must be a wildly up and down given all the chopping and changing Gus does.
