Do you have the time to listen to me whine
About NOTHING and everything all at once
I am one of those
Melodramatic fools
Neurotic to the bone
No doubt about it

Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?
Am I just STONED

I went to a shrink
To analyze my dreams
SHE says it's lack of sex that's bringing me down
I went to a whore
HE said my life's a bore
So quit my whining cause it's bringing HER down

Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?

Grasping to CONTROL
So I BETTER hold on

Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?
Am I just STONED

Excellent band, along with the likes of Offspring and Blink 182. As for being a punk band, well they sound punk but hell, they can actually play their instuments !

No as punk as they used to be anyway.

'Dookie' was class, wasn't so keen on the second album and kind of lost ineterest after that. All in all, a good band though.

Same as me. I went through a punk stage about 93-94 with Nirvana, Offspring an' all that, but didn't bother much after that Insomniac album. Turned to dance music etc...

Dookie is quality though, and made me pick up the electric guitar that I still play every day.

Passable ersatz punk.

yeah Green Day are good, been around long enough to know what makes a good song and they still pump them out today.

I played 'Basket Case' when we played Cardiff, and 'Welcome to Paradise' for Palace (both from the excellent 'International Superhits' album) Green Day are a great 'fun punk' band with more to them than most ( they've been going 16 years, and their latest stuff is probably their best)

But the best - in terms of variety and quality of songwriting - of the newer US punk bands by a mile is RANCID. I know it's an awful name, but the music is brilliant, and they're touring here next month
'.......And Out Come The Wolves' and 'Life Won't Wait' are fantastic albums - a sizzling mixture of Clashy punk, ska, reggae and dub. If you like the Clash, SLF,
U-Roy, Specials..you'll love them.

Yes agreed Rancid are class, many good songs but Rejected is my fave, the bass-line is just superb!

The albums can be a bit patchy IMHO but on the whole a top band. Welcome To Paradise/Nice Guys Finish Last/Hitchin' A Ride are just genius in songwriting.

I hung with them one night in Hollyweird, with my mates 'The Catherine Wheel' (now defunct) and they were good lads for larfs.
They were staying at the Sunset Marquis which is THE rockers hotel to stay at, and the bar was packed. There were some dwarf blokes there for some midget convention (probably a porn shoot), and we all discussed the wonderful sport of dwarf-flinging .
The dwarfs were cool too, and none of them wanted to fling us for being so passe . Oh, how we laughed !
