'Love Song' by the Damned.

"I need a ticket if you're the collector
I'll pay the fare if you're the inspector
I'll be the luggage if you'll be the porter
I'll be the parcel if you'll be the sorter

Just for you, here's a love song
Just for you, here's a love song
And it makes me glad to say
It's been a lovely day
And it's OK."

That's poetry that is.....

:lolol: :p :lolol:

"Love will tear us apart" by Joy Division. Ian Curtis was failing to come to terms with his role as husband, father and leader of the best group in the country in the early 80's, this song still makes the hair on my neck stand up. Mournful, beautiful, desperate and painful all in one. Not released until after he hung himself

When routine bites hard
and ambitions are low
And resentment rides high
but emotions won't grow
And we're changing our ways,
taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart
again (4)

Why is the bedroom so cold
Turned away on your side?
Is my timing that flawed,
our respect run so dry?
Yet there's still this appeal
That we've kept through
our lives
Love, love will tear us apart again (4)

Do you cry out in your sleep
All my failings expose?
Get a taste in my mouth
As desperation takes hold
Is it something so good
Just can't function no more?
When love, love will tear us apart
again (4)

"It Must Be Love" by Madness does it for me, for some strange reason....
Am I the only person who remembers the original version by Labi Siffre?
And my favourite love song is "Without You" by Nilsson

there is a light that never goes out... the smiths

and if a double decker bus, kills the both of us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die
and if a ten ton truck crashes into us, to die by your side, well the pleasure and the priviledge is mine.

Love Will Tear Us Apart is a FANTASTIC song, but not what I would call a love song. A song of despair - yes.

Agreed. Not a love song, its the last screams of a highly tortured mind. Excellent track, not about Love

As goes most love songs...

Thankfully my current "Our song" isn't a love song but a dodgy dance track.
