For me, live, it has to be the Hereford game, closely followed by the play off final.

On telly, 1999 CL final, I loved seeing those German (Munich) players faces at the end.

But also on telly it has to be the 2 Liverpool Newcastle games that ended 4-3.

1983 FA Cup 5th round Liverpool v Brighton 1 - 2 Atmosphere was electric and a very entertaining game with a nail biting finish as we waited foe the final whistle.

The other was FANS United day "on 8th February 1997 - Albion fans called on supporters of all clubs to stand with them and show their disgust at what was happening. “Fans United” was a unique show of solodarity and an outstanding success (not least because of the 5-0 demolition of relegation rivals Hartlepool United)." this information was supplied by http://www.clubsincrisis.com/brighton/brighton_crisis_history.html

It was an emotional day seeing support from fans from other clubs!!

What a game this was. Blades took a three goal lead & BHA pulled one back to make it 3-1 at half-time. The Seagulls then came storming back to go 4-3 in front before United equalised with a penalty. John Francis scored the winner for the Blades in the last minute with a diving header.

Probably the Champions League final between AC Milan and Liverpool.

Best game I've seen in the flesh is without doubt our 4-4 draw with Arsenal last month. Going from being 0-4 down after 25 minutes and looking absolutely f***ing hopeless to seeing one of the best NUFC performances I've ever seen and seeing us get a valuable point was quite bizarre tbh. I'm not the type to leave early and for once I was rewarded for that. The atmosphere from 1-4 to the final whistle was nothing short of spine tingling, makes a change.

Nothing for me comes close to the France v Germany World Cup semi in 1982. Just awesome and the forearm smash that the German keeper landed on the French striker knocking 3 of his teeth out would grace any WWE event

Totally right, best game of all-time.

Best I've seen live would be Rennes 4 Marseille 4 a couple of seasons ago.

When Harchester United played their final game. An emotional end to an emotional football show. Glorious stuff

To me, it is and always will be that day at Hereford. From the moment we got on that coach in the morning, getting the result that we needed then stopping at Chippenham, that despite a police escort, our driver still managed to evade them off the motorway ! The 1st pub we got to didnt know what hit it, they must have made a few quid though

Albion v Sheffield Wednesday in the late 70's, close to end of season.
Outrageous good match, we were taken to a closest fought 3-2 win which we required to get in order to gain promotion.

We bought Eric Potts off them afterwards. It was astounding, best most breathless game I have ever been to.

Argentina V England 1998 World Cup

Sadly I sold my ticket at Dover, in order to see more of my Mum on my visit to England. I'd already been almost 3 weeks touring around Europe in that World Cup, from Barcelona to Marseilles (England v Tunisia), then across through Italy to see some friends playing at a festival at Imola (The Catherine Wheel, for those who may recall that band), then through N.Italy and Switzerland, France again for the drawn match v Romania and then home. Those tix were gold-dust too

It was a passionate match, infuriating at the end (ref still needs shooting) and one Frenchman died afterwards at the hands of a bloke who was not even known to be a hooligan. That was not big news after the game, oddly.

Tottenham 3-4 Man City - Tottenham leading 3-0 at half time and Joey Barton talked himself into getting sent off as they left the field at half time. Man City came back and with minutes to go John Macken scored the winner.

Liverpool 1-2 Brighton FA cup 1983.

Notts Forest 0-1 Brighton 1979. When we beat for what I believe was the first and only time, the reigning European Cup holders.

Don't know if it counts as one of the greatest games, but one of the most enjoyable games I saw on T.V. was the Portugal - Holland match in 2006, with 4 red cards. The ref was terrible and the teams were kicking lumps out of each other, fantastic from a neutral's point of view.

I remember a particular shot of Deco and Van Bronckhorst, having both been sent off from opposing nations (but both Barca players), sitting on the steps chatting glumly to each other.

For me 1999 Champs league final ManU v B.Munich for many reasons. The Germans faces especial Lothar Matteus, on the subs bench not being able to do anything

Pompey vs Wigan??

I recon Newcastle Arsenal this season was pretty amazing. And Liverpool Arsenal last year with Arshavin scoring all 4 was pretty incredible!

Spurs Vs Reading

Arsenal this year was pretty good....

Colchester on boxing day was Brilliant as well.

Hereford - “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.”

This was the stuff of legends.
This was do or die.
This was a rollercoaster of a match where all emotions were experienced.
The joy when that final whistle went will never be repeated.
This is why this match will be the greatest match of my life.
