Everyone raves about the Phil Spector one...but what have you got in your very merry collection?

Me?

Andy Williams, Jim Reeves, and even Mario Lanza. The favourite has to be old Mr 'Chestnuts Roasting' (ooer) Nat King Cole.

Any album that does NOT have "So here it is Merry Christmas" by Slade on it.

I :censored: HATE that song.

I know what you mean. It was class when originally released but now I detest it.

My personal favourite from that era was Mud 'Lonely this Christmas'.

'Have a merry Christmas darlin'..wherever you are'.

By far the best Christmas SONG is Pipes Of Peace by McCartney. Unfortunately, it doesn't have twatty great sleighbells all over it or naff lyrics about Christmas trees and stockings so it doesn't get played (plus everyone dismisses much of his solo stuff far too cheaply, IMHO "ho ho, didn't he do that shit about frogs hahaha"). But for me at least, it's very evocative of the Xmas when it came out.

Nah - although not even originally meant to be a Christmas song, you can't beat Jona Lewie, Can you stop the cavalry.

Thank you HP....

'Carol singin', bells are ringin', Santa comes tonight.

Why did you shorten the name by one 'waddy'?

they were only ever called showaddywaddywaddy in the lyrics of 'hey rock n roll

just for you, here's the rest of hey mister christmas

Hey Mister Christmas, we hope you're havin' fun,
Hey Mister Christmas, Mister Christmas here we come.

Throw away your troubles at Christmas,
And make this Christmas bright,
Carol singin', bells are ringin', Santa comes tonight.
Forget your troubles and worries,
And kick them out the door,
Don't look back, come on in, we'll just play some more, more, more, more.

Hey Mister Christmas, we hope you're havin' fun,
Hey Mister Christmas, Mister Christmas here we come.

Old folks sit by the fire,
Children play in the snow,
They've been waiting, anticipating, see their faces glow.
Forget your troubles and worries,
And kick them out the door,
Don't look back, come on in, we'll just play some more, more, more, more.

Hey Mister Christmas, we hope you're havin' fun,
Hey Mister Christmas, Mister Christmas here we come.
Mister Christmas here we come.

Hey Mister Christmas, we hope you're havin' fun,
Hey Mister Christmas, Mister Christmas here we come.
