My Guess is that it is Bristol Rovers at home last game of the season 1987/88 season.
Or Ipswich at home last game of the season 1990/91 season

I don't think it is the Bristol Rovers game, as we had fencing around the ground at the time, except the South Stand

I also nearly got crushed against the fencing. Was not long afterwards the tragedy at Hillsborough happened.

I look back at that day and think that could quite easily have happened at the Goldstone.

Looks like it is the south stand to me so could well be the Rovers game in 88. Take a look at the right hand side of the pic, you can see the roof of the disabled area and the police control box in the background

Must be Ipswich, and you can bet your life that those coppers are about to grab one fan just so they look like they're doing their job properly!
Is that not Gary Nelson far left with the blonde hair? Could have been in the crowd that day as Barry Lloyd hardly ever played him that season. :glare:
